Transcription quota is consumed based on the total duration of the recording file.

We will continue optimizing this for cases where a recording contains mostly silence.

If you are worried that accidental recording may consume transcription quota, you can adjust the summary trigger method in the app by going to device icon in the upper-left corner > Summary Preferences > Trigger Method, then selecting Automatic Summary, Manual Summary, or Smart Time Period Summary.
