A: Every KATA Friends unit purchased through an authorized retailer, such as the SwitchBot official store, comes with a 15-day free software trial. This allows you to experience the software services without an immediate subscription. However, once this trial period ends, your KATA Friends will enter "Sleep Mode". In this state, app features will be disabled, making daily operation and communication unavailable.
Q2: Can I purchase the Companion Care Plan while my 15-day free trial is still active?
A: Yes, you can purchase a plan at any time during the trial. Once purchased, your Companion Care will automatically begin the day after your trial expires. For example:
If you complete the initial setup on January 1, your free trial remains active until January 15. If you purchase and activate a yearly plan on January 3, both your software service period and repair service coverage will all run for one year starting from January 16.
Please note that you must redeem the plan within the SwitchBot app to begin your service.
Q3: How much do repairs cost?
A: Repair costs vary depending on the specifics of your purchase. Please refer to our official website for detailed pricing and coverage information.
Q4: Can I upgrade my Companion Care plan from the Essential Plan to the Premium Plan?
A: Yes, upgrades are supported. The purchased Premium Plan will automatically activate once your current Essential Plan expires. The details are as follows:

2. Activate the Premium Plan in SwitchBot app
3. When the Essential Plan expires, the Premium Plan will be automatically activated

If you wish to stop your current plan and switch to the new one immediately, we will escalate the matter to our R&D team for assistance. However, please note that refunds for the previous plan cannot be issued.

A: If you are unable to activate your plan due to eligibility issues, please submit feedback via the SwitchBot app to request a refund. However, please be aware that once the Companion Care has been activated, it is no longer eligible for a refund.
