KATA Friend likes close interaction. Gently touching or holding KATA Friend may activate responsive behaviors.
Voice commands
KATA Friend responds to the wake phrase 'Hello KATA', 'Hello Niko', 'Hello Noa', or its given custom name, followed by specific action commands. Try these commands:

Chat
If you want to start a real conversation with your KATA Friend, simply enable Chat in the app (Settings > Customization) and say the designated command (refer to Can I Chat with SwitchBot KATA Friends for more details).
Gestures
KATA Friend supports the following gesture-based interactions:
- Call over: Wave your hand toward yourself with your palm facing upward to prompt KATA Friend to approach.
- Greeting: A simple wave might trigger a recognition response from KATA Friend.
- Positive feedback: A thumbs-up gesture can be used to express approval.
- Photo capture: Display a peace sign to prompt KATA Friend to take a photo.
- Approve: Make the "OK" sign with your hand to show KATA Friend your approval.
- Rock out: Show the "rock on" gesture to get KATA Friend excited and join the fun.
- Pause: Show a "pause" gesture to have KATA Friend stop and wait quietly.
- Show love: Form a heart shape with your hands to let KATA Friend know you care.
