Chat

If you want to start a real conversation with your KATA Friend, simply enable Chat in the app (Settings > Customization) and say the designated command (refer to Can I Chat with SwitchBot KATA Friends for more details).

Gestures

• Call over: Wave your hand toward yourself with your palm facing upward to prompt KATA Friend to approach.

• Greeting: A simple wave might trigger a recognition response from KATA Friend.

• Positive feedback: A thumbs-up gesture can be used to express approval.

• Photo capture: Display a peace sign to prompt KATA Friend to take a photo.

• Approve: Make the "OK" sign with your hand to show KATA Friend your approval.

• Rock out: Show the "rock on" gesture to get KATA Friend excited and join the fun.

• Pause: Show a "pause" gesture to have KATA Friend stop and wait quietly.

• Show love: Form a heart shape with your hands to let KATA Friend know you care.

Run Small Errands for You

You can directly ask KATA Friends to go to a specific room, take a look around, or take a photo and come back. For example: “Go check the living room.”

If someone is still in bed, you can ask KATA Friends to wake them up. For example: “Go to the bedroom and wake up my sister.”

These are features KATA Friends has learned in the new version. Please make sure the firmware has been updated to V1.2.075 or newer, the SwitchBot App has been updated to V10.1 or newer, and that the places or room names KATA Friends needs to go to have been fully saved in the map. Otherwise, KATA Friends will need to explore the new area again.
