Energizing KATA Friend
When first activated, KATA Friend may have a low battery level. Dock it to its nest to recharge. Once sufficiently charged, it will begin to explore its surroundings.
When KATA Friend moves around actively, it is learning the layout of your home to navigate autonomously and return to its nest when needed.
Mapping and exploration
You can monitor KATA Friend's mapping progress via the app, which displays the gradually expanding map as KATA Friend continues to explore your home. Let KATA Friend move and map uninterruptedly during this process, as it is recording the layout to ensure reliable operation.
If you’d like to encourage KATA Friend to explore further, tap Fast Mapping in the app. Until fully learning about the environment, KATA Friend will prioritize areas it has already mapped.
Specify no-go zones or virtual walls via the app to restrict access to specific areas or to mark potentially unsafe locations.
If KATA Friend is moved to a new environment, allow it to remap the space before use to ensure accurate navigation.
