Preparation

Before using the Universal Remote to control your AV receiver (We will illustrate this using Denon AV receiver as an example), you will need the following:

SwitchBot Hub
SwitchBot Universal Remote
Denon AV receiver
Denon Remote

Setup

1. Make sure your SwitchBot App version is up to date.

2. Make sure your Hub and Universal Remote have been added to SwitchBot App.

3. Pair your Bluetooth remote, such as Apple TV or Fire TV, with the Universal Remote.

4. Add four AV receiver infrared shortcuts for Apple TV (or Fire TV) that you want to control in the following order:

Launch SwitchBot App and log in.
Tap Universal Remote.
Tap the paired Bluetooth remote like Apple TV.
Choose the button you want to set up.
Tap the "+" icon in the upper right corner on "Edit Button" screen.
Select the Hub under your account.
Take out your IR remote control, point it at the Hub and press the IR button you want to learn.
Follow the on-screen steps to test and save it.

After the above setup, you can also control your AV receiver directly when controlling your apple tv, no need to switch between different devices.

5. You can also adjust the volume on your Bluetooth remote control using the Universal Remote by following a similar method.

Launch SwitchBot App and log in.
Tap Universal Remote.
Tap the paired Bluetooth remote like Apple TV.
Tap the the volume + button.
Change the command type to IR.
Use Hub to learn it.
Save and Sync the changes to your Universal Remote.
