How to Recover the Firmware of SwitchBot Universal Remote

• Firmware Version: 4.2 or newer

If your Universal Remote doesn't respond, the firmware upgrade fails, or the synced device text is missing, try to recover the firmware of your Universal Remote.

1. Press and hold the kata button on the Universal Remote and use the reset pin to shortpress the reset hole on the bottom of the device.

2. Perform the firmware recovery by going to the SwitchBot App -> Profile -> Firmware Recovery -> Recover

Note:

You can recover the firmware of your Universal Remote even if it has not been added to your app.

After the firmware recovery is complete, all previously synchronized devices will be automatically deleted and need to be re-added.

The firmware recovery will take approximately 20 minutes. Please make sure that your smartphone screen does not go to sleep during the recovery process. Here's how you can disable the screen lock on your phone.

For iPhone: Setting App -> Display & Brightness -> Auto-Lock-> Never

For Android Phone, the setup method varies from phone to phone, we will use HUAWEI phone as an example to illustrate. Setting App -> Display & Brightness -> Screen -> Sleep -> Never
