If there are buttons on your remote that cannot be controlled with Universal Remote, you can solve this issue by following the steps below.
1. Make sure your SwitchBot App version is upgraded to 9.1 or newer.
2. Make sure your Universal Remote has been added to SwitchBot App and firmware version is upgraded to 4.0 or newer.
3. If you paired and synchronized your third-party platform devices (such as Apple TV or Fire TV) to the Universal Remote using a SwitchBot App version earlier than 9.1, you will need to delete them and then add them again.
Delete: SwitchBot App -> Universal Remote -> Manage Devices -> ... in the upper right corner -> Select them and Delete.
Add: SwitchBot App -> Universal Remote -> Manage Devices -> + in the upper right corner -> Third-party control.
4. Change the command type of the buttons that you cannot control from Bluetooth to infrared signal, and then use SwitchBot Hub under your account to learn the infrared code for these buttons.
SwitchBot App -> Tap the Universal Remote -> Tap the the newly added third-party remote (for example Apple TV) -> Tap the the button you can't control (for example volume button) -> Change the command type to IR -> then use Hub to learn it -> Save -> Sync the changes to your Universal Remote.
5. With above settings, you can adjust volume and other buttons on your third-party remotes with the Universal Remote.
6. If you have any questions or if you haven't received firmware version 4.0 yet, please contact us via SwitchBot App > Profile > Support >Feedback.
