Roles and Permissions (V9.0)

Post to V9.0, we have introduced new roles to Home Sharing.

There are four roles in total,

• Owner
• Admin
• Member
• Member (Limited Permissions)

Owner

As the home owner, you have utter control of the entire home and the devices under it.

Admin

As an admin or administrator, you have almost the same level of access to the home as the owner, except you cannot delete the home.

More specifically you can,

• Change Home settings and rooms settings
• Invite other members and manage their roles
• View, modify, and control devices
• View, modify, and run scenes and automations

Member

As a member, you have limited access to all the devices and automations under the home you are invited to.

More specifically you can,

• View and control devices
• View and run scenes and automations

Member (Limited Permissions)

As a member with limited permissions, you have limited access to a set of devices, which are appointed by one of the administrators or the owner of the home you are invited to.

More specifically you can,

• View and control devices with limited functions

Unrestricted Functions

Some of the app functions or settings are not confined to permissions. Each member may change these settings based on their own preferences and maintain their own copies of the configuration on their phones. These include,

• Module Display Settings
• Reorder Sections
• Android OS Widget
• iOS Widget
• Third-party Services
• Join new home
