Basic Troubleshooting
- Update the SwitchBot App to the latest version.
- Make sure the battery insulation tab has been removed from the Bot.
- Enable mobile data, Bluetooth, and location permissions on your phone. If you are using Android 12 or earlier, also make sure Location Services are enabled.
- If the device has not been used for more than six months, its battery may be depleted. Replace the battery and try again.
- Swipe down on the SwitchBot App home screen to refresh it. Once the device icon appears, tap it and try controlling the Bot.
If the Device Cannot Be Found
Reset the device: Open the back cover and briefly press the reset button in the corner once. The indicator light will flash when the reset is complete. Do not press and hold the button.
If you accidentally press and hold the button, remove and reinstall the battery. After the indicator light flashes, briefly press the reset button once again.
Restart Bluetooth: Turn your phone’s Bluetooth off and back on. Move your phone as close as possible to the Bot, then try again.
Try repairing the firmware: Remove the battery. While holding down the internal reset button, reinstall the battery. In the SwitchBot App, go to Profile → Firmware Repair. If Repair Bot Firmware appears, follow the instructions to repair the firmware.
If the Issue Persists
In the SwitchBot App, go to Profile → Feedback, select the relevant device, and submit feedback to our Customer Support team.
