How to Share SwitchBot Lock with Your Family?

For security reasons, a Switchbot Lock can only be registered to one SwitchBot account. If needed, there are two ways to share your SwitchBot Lock with your family and friends.

Method 1: Use the same SwitchBot account.

Since one SwitchBot account can be used on multiple smartphones simultaneously, you can share your SwitchBot account and password with family and friends to unlock and lock your Lock at any time.

Method 2: Create a shared home.

Once your family and friends join a shared home as home members, all devices registered in that home will be available. Please refer to the following for information on how to create a shared home and how to join a home.

Create a shared home and an invitation code:

• Launch SwitchBot App and log in.
• Tap My Home in the upper left corner. (The default home name will be My Home.)
• Tap "Manage Homes".
• Tap "Create Home" in the lower right corner of the Manage Homes screen.
• Enter a name for the shared home and tap Create.
• Tap the previously created shared home on the Manage Homes screen.
• Tap the "+" icon beside "Home Members".
• Enter the member's name then tap "Next".
• An invitation code will be created for you to send to your family or friends.

Join a shared home:

• To join a shared home, your family and friends must create SwitchBot accounts beforehand.
• Launch SwitchBot App on your family member's smartphone and log in.
• Tap My Home in the upper left corner then tap "Manage Homes".
• Tap "Join Home" in the lower left corner.
• Enter the invitation code.
• After completing the home join, switch to the shared Home from the upper right corner of the home screen to control the Lock.
