1. Make sure your SwitchBot App version is up to date.
2. Make sure SwitchBot Water Leak Detector has been added to your App and set to the leak alert mode.
3. Make sure your phone’s system is permitting push notifications from the SwitchBot App.
4. Turn off the Bluetooth on your smartphone.
5. Add water to the device until the electrodes are submerged. For sensor cable models, the cable can also be immersed in water. Once the alarm is triggered, do not move or dry the device.
6. The Water Leak Detector will activate the Wi-Fi module to connect to the network after the alarm. This process typically takes 30 to 120 seconds. Once connected, you will receive notifications on your phone or via email. We kindly ask for your patience during this time.
Please note: The device’s default alarm duration is 60 seconds. After this period, the alarm sound will stop, and the red light will stop flashing. However, the device will continue connecting to the network to send out alerts.
7. If you receive notifications, it means the device is successfully connected to the network and you can dry the device. If not, check the Wi-Fi connection on the SwitchBot App for a water leak notification, logs and a cloud icon in the upper right corner of the Water Leak Detector.
No notification: place your device near the Wi-Fi router then try the above again.
Everything works fine on SwitchBot App but no alarm: log out of your account and then log in again to see if it helps.
