About the Alert Notification Process for SwitchBot Water Leak Detector

SwitchBot Water Leak Detector (with Sensor Cable) is designed with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) capabilities. To conserve battery life, however, the Wi-Fi connection is only activated when the sensor detects water (or low water levels) and triggers an alert. This means the Wi-Fi is off during normal operation, and it may take between 30 ~ 120 seconds to establish a connection once a leak is detected. As a result, there might be a slight delay when the water leak alarm triggers other automation routines.

Please note that this delay is a deliberate design choice to prioritize power efficiency, not a defect. We appreciate your understanding.

Note:

Once the Wi-Fi connects successfully and an alert is triggered, the Wi-Fi connection will be disconnected. If you have a Hub near your Water Leak Detector, the alert will be triggered more quickly.
