How Should I Connect the Power Adapter When Installing the Camera Outdoors?

A weatherproof outlet like the one shown below is commonly used for outdoor installations. However, the power adapter may not fit inside the outlet cover, and the adapter plug itself is not waterproof. Do not expose the adapter or plug directly to rain or moisture.

We recommend keeping the power adapter securely connected to an indoor outlet. Use an extension cable to route the power cable outdoors through a nearby window.

The power cable is thin, so the window can usually still be closed and locked. Make sure the cable is not pinched, sharply bent, or damaged when closing the window.
