Preparation

Before setting up devices using Matter, you will need the following:

SwitchBot Hub 3
Android Phone
A Google Nest Hub

software

Android OS 12 or newer
Google Nest 47.9.4 or newer
Google Home 2.65.1.6 or newer

Setup

1. Make sure your SwitchBot App version is up to date.

2. Make sure SwitchBot Hub 3 has been added to your App and your device firmware version is up to date.

3. Make sure all devices (your cell phone, nest hub and Hub 3) are connected to the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.

4. Method 1: Add your Hub 3 to Google Home App by inputing matter code.

4-1 Copy the code by going to SwitchBot App -> your Hub 3 -> Gear Icon (Settings screen) -> Matter Setup (Beta).

4-2 Before adding Hub 3 to your Google Home app, you must first reset it. Press and hold the On and Off buttons on Hub 3 for 15 seconds, then release after hearing a beep.

4-3 Open Google Home App -> Tap "Add" button that appears under "Device" menu -> Tap "Matter-enabled device" -> Tap "No QR code" in the lower left corner -> Paste the code to continue the whole process.

5. Method 2: Add your Hub 3 to Google Home App by scaning the QR code on the back of the Hub 3

Open Google Home App -> Tap "Add" button that appears under "Device" menu -> Tap "Matter-enabled device" -> Tap "Scan code" in the lower right corner -> scan the QR code to finish the whole process.

6. After entering the adding process, wait a moment and your Hub 3 will be added as a gateway, and the temperature and humidity sensor of Hub 3 will also be added to the Home App.

7. You can go back to SwitchBot App to sync the sub-devices (secondary devices) as needed.

Way to sync the sub-devices: SwitchBot App -> Hub 3 -> Gear Icon (Settings screen) -> Matter setup (Beta) -> Add secondary devices

Note:

Unlike Hub 2 and Hub Mini Matter, Hub 3 can sync up to 30 sub-devices to the Home App.
