  • Applicable products:  SwitchBot Bot
  • SwitchBot app Version:  6.19 or newer
  • Device firmware version:  V6.4 or newer

1. Make sure your SwitchBot App version is up-to-date.
2. Make sure the location services permission on the mobile phone has been enabled for SwitchBot App and the SwitchBot Hub Mini connects to the 2.4GHz network stably.

  • For iOS users, please go to Settings>Privacy>Location Services, search SwitchBot App, and enable the location services.
  • For Android users, please go to settings>App> Permission manager>Location>search SwitchBot App>Select and turn on the permission.

3. Make sure the Bot has been upgraded to the latest firmware version.

  • If the Bot has turned on the Cloud Service via the Hub Mini or Ceiling Light, Make sure Hub Mini and Ceiling Light have been upgraded to the latest firmware version.

4. Try to shorten the distance between the Bot and Hub Mini or Ceiling Light.

5. Try to unplug the cable for the Hub Mini for 10 seconds and plug it back in to reset the Hub Mini.

 

If all the above attempts failed, please contact us via [Profile Page] - [Feedback] in SwitchBot App and provide us with the following information.

  • The time when the error 161 last happened
  • Distance between the Bot and the Hub Mini
  • A photo that shows the distance between the Bot and the Hub Mini
