Under the latest version of the SwitchBot App, we can receive push alerts/notification from SwitchBot app. For example, when the SwitchBot Contact Sensor or Indoor Cam detects a motion, a relevant notification will be pushed to your cellphone. Also, we can be notified when a Scene is executed.
But sometimes, when we have enabled the notification settings both on the SwitchBot App and on our cellphone settings, we still cannot receive the notification. The followings will explain how the mechanism of push notification works for SwitchBot App.
- The SwitchBot account is only logged in to one cellphone
Please check if the notification settings have been enabled on the settings of this device and on the SwitchBot App.
- The SwitchBot account is logged in to multiple cellphones
1. If those cellphones are under the same operating system, the push notification will only be sent to the last device to log in to this account.
2. If those cellphones are under different operating systems, the push notification will be sent to them all simultaneously.
For example, if SwitchBot account is logged in to two iPhones A and B and iPhone B is the last one to log in, push notification will only be sent to iPhone B.
If SwitchBot account is logged in to two Android phones A and B and B is the last one to log in, push notification will only be sent to Android phone B.
If SwitchBot account is logged into an iPhone and an Android phone, both of them will receive push notification simultaneously.
If SwitchBot account is logged in to an iPhone and an iPad, both of them will receive push notification simultaneously.
