Go to the Settings page of the SwitchBot Meter, we will see the Desired Conditions option. Go in and set the condition we prefer.

There are two sliders, one for temperature and one for humidity. Each slider has two handles. By default, the blue area between these two handles is the desired range of conditions.

If the "Alert" toggle is enabled, the reading will turn red on the homepage whenever the conditions leave this zone.

If the "Inverse" toggle is enabled, the desired condition will be reserved.

For example

We will get an alert when the temperature is lower than 23°C or higher than 30.5°C.

If we inverse this condition, we will get an alert when the temperature is between 23°C~30.5°C.

We will get an alert when the humidity is lower than 50% or higher than 63%.

If we inverse this condition, we will get an alert when the humidity is between 50%~63%.

Alerts are sent using notifications, which is the same technology news companies employ to send out breaking news alerts.

For iOS devices, when our phone is within the Bluetooth range of the Meter, we will get a banner notification when the alert is triggered. If our phone is outside of the Bluetooth range of the Meter, a SwitchBot Hub Mini is required to get a banner notification when the alert is triggered.

For android devices, the SwitchBot Hub Mini is necessary if we want to get a banner notification when the alert is triggered.
